I am getting my faxes as voicemails. What causes this?

K7 Unified Messaging, free Fax and voicemail to email.
Faxes should be sent during the initial greeting. If the sender waits until after the beep the K7 system will think they are sending a voicemail. You will have to educate the people sending faxes to you. We suggest changing your greeting to something like this, "You have reached the Unified Message box of John Doe. If you wish to send a fax, send it now. To leave a message, please speak at the beep."

What is the best way to run TNOS, and make sure it re-starts if it crashes?

TNOS Installation
Well this depends on what operating system you are running TNOS under. First I will describe one way of doing it under Linux, and then a way of doing it under DOS. Please note. There is another example later in this FAQ from Brian, ko4ks, that details a slightly different way of doing this. Mix 'n' Match :-) Caveat.

What causes frequent disconnections?

InfoChannel > Customer Care > FAQ's > Top Ten FAQ's
Dampness and moisture in the phone lines. Old or low quality phone lines. Multiple features on your phone line (call waiting, caller id, etc.) may slow your connection speeds as these services pull from the purity of the phone line like a distraction. Cordless phones attached to the same phone line may cause some interference. Having your phone cord too long or your computer too far from the jack. Your phone cord wound from the jack to the computer may cause it to act like an antenna.

DirectRoute Europe users have to live with this. of this writing, 5.38 hasn't made it to the web site, but at least one user got a unit back from repair and verified that the majority, if not all, of the problems present in 5.36 remain.

Return to top What are the most frequent causes of base damage?

Frequently Asked Questions
Probably the two most common forms of base damage I see are poor steel scraping and over-heating with the iron. A word about both may save needing to send in your skis for grinding! Be sure to use a sharp scraper or good quality. Avoid thin scrapers that can bend and create rounded bases, and avoid using a burnished (wire) edge unless you are very, very sure what you are doing. The best steel scrapers are very hard steel, and need to be sharpened on a diamond stone.

My program crashes as soon as I run it, what's up?

The ParaMount Group FAQ
Of course there are many reasons that a program may crash, but a common reason is that the stack size is too small. If your program crashes as soon as you begin to execute it (I mean instantly!), this may be the problem. Try increasing the stacksize by typing: >> limit stacksize n where n is the size you'd like (in kbytes). You can see what the current size is by typing "limit" by itself: peta.ecn.purdue.

Matlab crashes when i run mpt_init, why?

MPT - The Multi-Parametric Toolbox for Matlab
This usually happens when you try to use a licensed solver (for instance CPLEX, XPRESS, or MOSEK), but you don't have a valid license. In such case the solver interface will try to print a warning using mexErrMsgTxt. Due to a change in R14 API, MEX files compiled with older release of Matlab will crash R14 on Linux if that function is used. If you hit this problem, search for occurense of following files and remove them from your Matlab path if you are not in possession of a valid license:

It crashes every time I try to run it. What's the problem?

Intuem 4 - Frequently Asked Questions
First and most likely is that you have an AudioUnit installed that is unusable or requires anti-piracy software that is not installed. What you can do is remove all the files from these two locations: Add them back one or two at a time and run Intuem with each batch. This will help identify which one(s) cannot be used.

Sometimes when I try and run AIM, AIM crashes. What should I do?

AOL (R) Instant Messenger (TM)
When you run AIM, it looks for the library libstdc++-lib6.1-1.so.2. However, the latest Debian version doesn't come with this file by default, it comes with a newer version. You need to softlinking the new file to the old filename though: ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2

HOW FREQUENT IS FREQUENT?

jennethink: HOW FREQUENT IS FREQUENT?
Recently I noticed how annoying it is to stumble across a blog and not know for sure who's writing it or what it is about. When this happens, I feel like I spend a lot of time and energy trying to catch up. Sort of like coming into the second half of a movie and not knowing the name of any of the characters or if the monkey with a Mohawk is significant to the plot line or just a cute extra. I have to figure some people come here and have the same feeling.

What are the most frequent causes of base damage? How often can I have my skis ground?

Frequently Asked Questions
This depends on what needs to be done to the skis. If they are badly out of flat, or deeply scratched, it may be necessary to take rather more base off in order to produce a reasonably flat ski, and this will not leave as much base material for future restructuring. Flat skis with no damage, on the other hand, can be restructured over and over. Lars Svensson reports doing some pairs "maybe 40 times". Rule-of-thumb: GL RE11 structure is approximately 0.02 - 0.

What can be done about System Crashes?

What sorts of technical problems should I expect?
Ideally, there should be someone around 24 hours a day to make sure the system is put back up when it dies. A reasonable compromise for companies that aren't large enough to do this is to be sure someone's on the system during peak usage hours, to make sure the system is reset when it goes down.

What if everything crashes?

Index Marketing Group | F.A.Q.
Indexed annuities do carry a guaranteed minimum return, but only if you keep the policy until its maturity date. The guaranteed return is usually 3%, but that may not be 3% of what you paid into the policy in the first place. Some companies guarantee you'll get at least 3% of 90% of what you spent. Also make sure you check on how that minimum return is computed. If, for example, you get at least 3% compounded annually, that works out to a little more than a 10% gain after seven years.

What about computer crashes?

Tripaddiction
To ensure that the site performs well, we've designed Tripaddiction.com with very few bells and whistles. The same can't be said for the web sites of some of our recommended hotels. To reduce the risk of "crashing," limit the number of foreign web sites you visit per session. Quit and restart frequently. And if a site is taking too long to load, hit "stop" on your browser menu bar and try again later.

Staplesmedia.com - Frequently Asked Questions - CD-RW Media
