A student who drops a class on or before the refund deadline will receive a 100% tuition refund for that class; the dropped class will not be listed on the student’s transcript. A student who withdraws from a class after the drop deadline will receive no refund; the student’s transcript will reflect a “W” grade. You withdraw from school when you want to drop all of your classes or drop your last class. You drop classes when you want to be removed from one or more classes at a time. You cannot drop your last class. When you are down to one remaining class you must withdrawal from school.

Dropping is defined as dropping an individual course while remaining enrolled in at least one other course during that term. Withdrawing is defined as dropping all courses for which the student is enrolled during that term. In order to withdraw properly you must come in person to the Enrollment Services Center located on the first floor of the John Peace Library building.

To "drop a course" means to disenroll from one (or more) specific course(s), while continuing to be enrolled in others. Students must meet all published drop deadlines and must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units per term. To "withdraw" means to discontinue attendance in ALL courses in which you are enrolled. Withdrawal requests are subject to review and approval by the College. If you are just dropping some of your classes for the quarter, not all of them, that's a drop, not a withdrawal.

If you drop a course latest by the third tutorial, it will be officially removed from your record and will not appear in your transcript. A withdrawal process is undertaken when you miss the drop course deadline and are unable/not ready to sit for the final exam of the course. By applying for withdrawal of course, the course will still appear in your transcript but with a "W" grade (withdrawal with permission).

You may drop your class 48 hours before the first class and receive a tuition refund, minus deposit. If you do not cancel in time for a refund you may transfer the enrollment credit to another class or make a donation to our program. This does not include Opera Camp or Workshop. All Students, including regular (degree seeking), special (non-degree seeking) and All State University System (SUS) transient students, who wish to leave the university during a term, must formally withdraw. Withdrawal is a formal separation from the University. This process allows students to meet with their deans and/or professor(s) to determine their grade options. Dropping all classes does not constitute formal withdrawal.

Dropping is only done during the refund period and courses are deleted from your record. Withdrawals, on the other hand, involve no refund and a "W" will remain on your record. However, it does not affect your "GPA".

The deadline to withdraw from any or all of your classes without penalty is always published on the Academic Calendar. Your permanent record will show a W beside the course(s) you drop. If you quit attending a class without officially withdrawing, you may receive an F.

Once you enter the seminar website, you are no longer able to receive a refund through withdrawing.  If you choose to withdraw from a seminar prior to entering the website, you may be eligible for a partial refund.  Contact us for details.
