You can print the Request for Benefits and Services form (Spanish version) and answer the questions in writing. Make sure that you sign the form and take or mail it to the Human Services Center located nearest you. Be prepared to be interviewed and to complete the application process the day you bring the form to your local Human Services Center. If you mail in the request form, you will receive a letter scheduling an appointment for an interview to complete the application process.

Yes. All Child Care Aware services and support are available in both English and Spanish. Also, if a family speaks a language other than English and Spanish, via the toll-free number we have access to a language line in which we can get a translator.

While the family will be divided in appropriate sections of the training (for example mom and dad will have the opportunity to participate in a parenting training module), and while there will be free time when family members can choose individual activities, it is our goal to keep the family together through significant parts of each day. To apply for parental tax credit if you're not receiving Working for Families Tax Credits complete the Working for Families Tax Credits registration form (under 'Get it done online'). You also need to apply for an IRD number for your child (if they don't already have one). To apply for an IRD number, complete an IRD number application - children (IR594) form and include a copy of your child's birth certificate or other identification. You can get an IR594 from 'Forms and guides'.

Begin daily brushing as soon as the child's first tooth erupts. A pea-size amount of fluoride toothpaste can be used after the child is old enough not to swallow it. We ask parents to help with at least one brushing a day until age six and then supervise until the child does a thorough job. However, each child is different. Your dentist can help you determine whether the child has the skill level to brush properly. Proper brushing removes plaque from the inner, outer and chewing surfaces.

If you are able to serve but have some special needs let the Jury Commissioner know and we will try to accommodate you.

Professionals working with children 0-6 years of age can request consultation and support services to assist with children who are experiencing difficulty in child care due to social/emotional or behavioural issues. To access these services for groups of children in your program, you can call Niagara Child and Youth Services directly at 905-384-9551. If you are calling about a specific child, you must have the consent of the parent to request support services for your program.
