You probably have the extendedglob option set in which case ^ and # are metacharacters. ^a matches any file except one called a, so the line is interpreted as bindkey followed by a list of files. Quote the ^ with a backslash or put quotation marks around ^a.

If you see this message and you're using csh, you probably have a "stty" command in your .cshrc file. You should either move this to your .login file so it only gets executed once, when you login; or set your SHELL variable to "csh -f", which tells csh not to execute the .cshrc or .login files.

If you are using an OpenWindows cmdtool as your terminal, any escape sequences (such as those produced by cursor keys) will be swallowed up and never reach zsh. Either use shelltool or avoid commands with escape sequences. You can also disable scrolling from the cmdtool pane menu (which effectively turns it into a shelltool). If you still want scrolling, try using an xterm with the scrollbar activated.

If you recently moved from an area where the water contained very few naturally occurring minerals, your new water may taste different due to the minerals it contains. Just as various brands of bottled water taste different due to the varying levels of different minerals they contain, so the taste of domestic drinking water varies with its source. It could be that you're simply not used to the new taste yet.

The menu bar detects your browser and uses different code accordingly (due to non-standards compliant code in IE). If you have problems reading text or seeing images on your screen such as buttons & graphics you may need to adjust the resolution on your display. You can do this by right-clicking once in an empty space on your desktop and left-clicking Properties on the menu that should popup. This will open the Display Properties window.
