Valley Biomedical suggests that serum should be stored frozen at (-20) deg C. If desired, the serum can be stored thawed in unopened containers at refrigeration (2 to 8 deg C) for up to two weeks. Once opened and exposed to microbial contamination, the serum should be used immediately and the balance of the material discarded, since microbial contamination can degrade the material rapidly.

Samples should be stored in a refrigerator. If stored for extended periods of time then they should be frozen. The integrity of our samples is ensured by our proprietary vacuum seal. Serum is the specimen of choice for cotinine measurement since it is subject neither to bacterial degradation nor sample concentration. Yes. Canned salmon can be refrigerated for up to three (3) days after opening without spoiling. You can also freeze canned salmon in plastic freezer bags or containers. Just remember to thaw the frozen salmon before use. Freezing extends the storage time by up to three (3) months or more. As with the handling of any perishable food, however, canned salmon should not be left at room temperature for unnecessary periods of time after opening.
