X-5 X-treme, V-600, V-600CS, V-400E, V-300, V-300CS, V-300-7 and All Fold-A-Vent Products can be used with any roof pitch from 3/12 to 16/12. For hip applications minimum over all roof pitch must be at least a 4/12 pitch. (The old style V-400 can only be used with up to a 10/12 pitch roof.)

Grace recommends that the Grace Ice & Water Shield is extended a min. of 24"" beyond the inside face of the exterior wall line of a building and should extend from the eave above the highest expected ice damn. Amazingly, quite low: as little as 1/2:12 (1/2" to the foot) for standing seam metal roofs - a definite benefit for many low-pitch applications. Most other roofing systems require minimum pitches of 3:12.

Not necessarily. Allmet Stone Coated Steel Roofs can be installed over existing wood shingle, shake or composition roofs. Ensure your local contractor checks local building codes.

When wind strikes the side walls or sloping roof of a building, it is deflected upward, creating a turbulance that tends to reduce the horizontal wind speed above the roof. To minimize the affect of turbulance on your readings, try to mount the wind sensor at least 5 feet and desirably 8 to 10 feet above the highest part of your roof.

Moisture is the primary cause of a roof’s deterioration. The steeper the slope, the quicker rainwater and moisture will run off.
