The paint finishes used on our panels are the highest quality. We start out with a high-tensile steel. We then coat it with a Galvalume 55% zinc, 45% aluminum coating. They are next pre-treated with primer, and then finally coated with a high quality baked-on enamel paint system.

Panels are .062" aluminum that is sanded vertically to give it a nice finish, then the edges are masked and the panel is painted with a coat of 'Polane' industrial paint. A very light splatter coat is put on top of that, then the panels are silkscreen printed. See this up-close picture of a panel. A rubber membrane underlayment is always a good idea as an additional barrier against water infiltration. You should always use one under a valley condition or any other detail that is likely to be difficult to seal. A rubber underlayment is also recommended at the eave and up to at least 24" past the exterior wall in a northern climate to help prevent water from entering the roof due to ice damming.

Metal roofing weighs less than other roofing products, in many cases enabling it to be installed over the existing roof using felt or lathing strips.

Asphalt shingles, though reasonably priced, don't deliver the best in looks or performance. Wood shakes, though attractive, don't have the fire resistance sought by homeowners and mandated by many local codes. Any commercially-available roofing system may be used. When AAC roof panels are installed flat or near flat, they are typically covered with a membrane system such as built-up or EPDM. On a pitch, the panels are often covered with shingles, tile or concealed fastener metal roofs.

The finish used is an exclusive Kynar 500* or Hylar 5000** coating, a two-coat, high performance finish, which has exclusive weathering characteristics. The coating gets its durability and color retention characteristics from the high molecular weight of its formulation. During its application, the molecules in the paint coating are chemically joined to form a strong coating that resists breakdown by ultraviolet rays and provides a very durable, long-lasting finish.

We can install the traditional standing seam steel in many colors, manufactured by our sister company, Marathon Metals, LLC. This type of roof has the ribs (seams) showing vertically up the roof, making it unmistakably metal. Some people prefer the look of shingles, shakes, or tiles on their roof, and for that preference we install stone-coated steel, our most popular product in recent years.

Prefinished metal roofing is offered in a broad palette of attractive colors with long-life coatings that do not support the growth of moss, mildew or fungus. Metal panels are lightweight, yet strong enough to withstand severe weather-snow easily slides off the roof. Finally, metal roofing lasts longer, conserves energy, and requires virtually no maintenance.

Today’s metal roofing materials are made to look exactly like typical roofing styles, such as cedar shake and shingles- only stronger and more durable.

You may use either screws or nails-both color matched to the color of your roof. Screw fasteners are preferred over nails for superior pullout resistance and weathertightness. Screw fasteners are designed to go into the flat part of the panel. Nails MUST GO in the high rib of the panel. Fasteners are typically spaced 24" o/c.

Galvalume? sheet is an ideal material for roofing because of its extraordinary outdoor corrosion resistance and resulting long life. It can be readily rollformed into a variety of panels, as well as formed and stamped into tile and shingle facsimiles. It can also be factory painted to impart color and extend durability. Most important, it can be used in modern day steel roof designs which are strong, yet light weight.

That depends on how good you are at using the capabilities provided by the existing MetaL compiler modules. The lower level modules generate code that reflects the commands and the logic structure of the original MetaL source code written by the developer. The higher level modules, i.e. those that are based on meta-meta-programming, generate code automatically according to abstract software description that may not be so optimized as hand written code.

Not only do the metal inserts make the panels stronger (approximately 2.6 times), they also enhance the looks of the grooves. Metal inserts are available in: mill aluminum, gold anodized, black anodized, and painted colors. The metal inserts need to be installed at the factory. The grooves are cut slightly larger to accept metal inserts. To gain the maximum strength the panels should be glued and screwed to the stud-wall.

Yes! The federal government has written an initiative within the Energy Policy Act of 2005 that rewards consumers of new metal roofs with a tax credit of up to $500. The credit qualifications require that homeowners outfit their homes with metal roofing with appropriate pigmented coatings which meet the Energy Star program requirements of at least 65% solar reflectance for low-slope roofing and 25% solar reflectance for steep-slope roofing.

Recycled Content - Most metal roofs have recycled content ranging from 25-95%. In contrast, conventional roofing is made from oil-based products that have much shorter lives. Metal roofs are 100% recyclable if ever removed, while conventional roofing materials are disposed of by the ton each year in landfills across the country.

In many cases, metal surfaces are repainted simply because they have become dull and faded. Refinishing with EVERBRITE™ Protective Coating is less expensive, faster, easier and achieves more permanent results than repainting. Just repainting metal cannot protect against salt air corrosion. Repainted surfaces will fade faster than baked on paint, and may crack, peel, blister, chip and ruin the look of your property.

If you paint over wallcovering, the seams may show, the paint may cause the wallcovering to blister, the paint warranty may be voided, and future removal will be much more difficult.
