Can I spray foam into a confined hole or gap? Can I drill a hole and spray foam into it?

How to use One component foam and Two component polyurethane...
We do not recommend spraying foam into areas that you cannot actually see. Foam expands in every direction. FOAM DOES NOT EXPAND IN THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE. Expanding foam may bow, buckle or burst the area. If high-pressure expansion is a concern, you may be interested in our No-Warp Low-Pressure Window & Door Gun Foam, or our Quick-Cure Reduced Expansion Cylinders.

Can I drill a hole in a magnet?

SuperMagnete.ch - FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions (and thei...
Drilling (or sawing) of neodymium magnets is absolutely not recommended. First of all, the material is brittle and fragile. Secondly, drilling causes combustible dust and, thirdly, the heat caused by the drill can possibly demagnetise the material. Specialists can work with the magnets with specialised diamond-tipped tools and constant water cooling. However, this normally occurs prior to magnetisation of the material. See similar questions...

a) What is the smallest hole diameter you can drill?

PhotoMachining, Inc. - FAQ
Smallest achievable hole size (and largest achievable hole size) is dependent on the material, material thickness and laser used. It is possible to drill 1 micron holes through thin material at aspect ratios of up to 100 to 1. It must be remembered, however, that there will usually be taper associated with the holes and the entrance diameter will be larger than the exit. We normally specify EXIT diameters. How can I drill a hole through ceramic tile?

Port St. Lucie, Florida Tile and Marble Contractor: Chris Bo...
Use a carbide-tipped masonry bit or diamond drill bit; Fegular twist-drill bits can't cut through the fire-hardened glaze. Not necessarily. Porcelain tile is no different in temperature than anything else in the room except that it holds its temperature better because of its mass. Of course, cool is good in warm weather climates and it's easy to warm things up with an area rug or two. See similar questions...

Can I drill the "vent hole" myself?

FAQ
We recommend the hole be a factory supplied option. What we do is actually disassemble the valve, indicate the ball dead center on 1 side, drill deburr, reassemble and then test the valve. Should I drill a hole in the center of a bowl, or not?

FAQ
The wood at the center of the piece has almost a  “Zero” velocity across the tip of the tool, and that can make it difficult to turn. Sometimes this is a problem, and sometimes it isn’t. Sometimes I drill into the center, and sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I don’t, then change my mind, and drill later.  Sometimes I do when I didn’t need to, and then it was a wasted effort.  I don’t think it matters. See similar questions...

What are the benefits of using spray-foam insulation?

Kulp's of Stratford | Learn More
In addition to sealing off eave areas to mitigate ice damming in many cases, spray foam insulation (several types are available) is the best choice for insulating new homes and for extensive remodeling projects, because of its air-sealing qualities. The amount of energy lost by convection (air movement through the building envelope) is much greater than what is lost by conduction (heat transfer through a solid). R-value is important, but it measures only heat lost by conduction. See similar questions...

Why do you drill a hole in porcelain rather than cutting a fragment?

Oxford Authentication
Porcelain is very hard and has to be cut using a diamond drill under running water to keep the sample cool. Any excessive heating would interfere with the TL. A hollow core drill is the safest way of doing this. The core is cut into thin slices using a fine, water-cooled diamond blade and the slices used for TL (pre-dose) measurements.
