Linen is a yarn or fabric made from the cultivated flax plant, named 'Linum usitatissimum'. It is a cellulosic plant fibre, or bast fibre, and it forms the fibrous bundles in the inner bark of the stems of the plant. The plant is an annual that grows to a height of about a metre and the fibres run the entire length of the stem and help hold it upright. The fibre strands are normally released from the cellular and woody stem tissue by a process known as retting (controlled rotting).

While some hostels do provide linen free of charge, others will apply a charge for this service. All hostels provide duvets or blankets and private rooms will usually include linen. Once again, it is worth checking the hostel's microsite before travelling. Sleeping bags are sometimes not allowed, as they may carry bed bugs.

Linen is provided for the beds. Towels are provided for the bathroom and pool. They are not to be used as beach towels. Please bring your own.

Each room has its own restroom which includes a toilet, sink and shower. All the linen is supplied which includes towels and bar soap for the bathroom and linen needed for the bed. Some people prefer to bring their own pillow for their comfort but that is optional.

It sure is. All linen and towels are supplied, as are basic tea & coffee making facilities. We also provide toiletries including soap, bath gel, body lotion and shampoo/conditioner in your ensuite.

First the pulled flax plants are left in the field (“retting”) for a certain period of time, allowing the fibers to separate naturally.Then the process begins by “scotching”—a process that extracts textile fibers from the bark and separates them from the wood particles with crushing and breaking motions. Finally, the flax fibers are combed into smooth, even slivers that will be spun into yarn.

No! Each of our private accommodation venues are fully self contained, this includes all bedroom and bathroom linens. Peak holiday season in New Zealand normally runs from mid December to early February, however ski destinations such as Queenstown also have a second peak season from July to October.

In Denmark, duvets are used, not blankets. Therefore, you will need cases for the duvet and the pillow, as well as a bottom sheet. As sizes vary from country to country it may be easier and cheaper for you to buy these items in Denmark. If you are interested we will be happy to buy a "start-up package" for you. The price is DKK 300 and it will be at your residenvce once you arrive. More details about how to order the packet will follow once you receive your actual address in Copenhagen.

NO, please do not attempt to wash the linen! As with the dishware, all linen is washed on return whether used or unused. Simply shake out the linen to remove and food or confetti debris and pack them in the nylon bags provided. Please do not pack them in garbage bags, as they will mildew over the course of the weekend. If any linen or skirting is damaged, be it from wax burns, dye, tears or other causes, additional charges will apply. Any food or wine stains are our responsibility.

A double bed pack of linen contains: 2 double sheets, 2 pillow cases, 2 large towels, 2 medium towels, 2 kitchen towels, 1 tablecloth and 1 bathmat. A single bed pack of linen contains: 2 single sheets, 1 pillow case, 1 large towel, 1 medium towel, 1 kitchen towel, 1 tablecloth and 1 bathmat. Please note towels for swimming are not supplied.

Pure Linen Damask is the name given to products woven from pure flax yarns in a special manner so that patterns are visible even in an all white cloth. This process requires threads to be woven in contrasting directions, which creates a pattern that is visible when viewed at certain angles. Across large surfaces, damask fabrics are most extraordinary, as shifting light sources continually reveal new patterns to the eye in hide and seek fashion.
