It is simply a time issue. With the ability to program the Robomower RL1000 for several mowing sessions automatically, it can easily handle the extra 4,000 square feet using the additional mowing session, all without your assistance

Aim to mow your lawn on 4- or 5-day intervals while it is growing most rapidly during the summer. That way you'll not remove more than one-third of its growth at any given time. Letting the grass grow taller weakens it. White grub worms (larval form of June beetles) devour turf roots (both bermuda and St. Augustine) leaving the grass dead and lifeless on top of the soil. Their prime season of activity starts 6 weeks after the major June beetle flight in early summer and continues until frost.

Optimum grass height varies by region - and by grass type. For example, creeping bentgrass spreads by stolons and should be mown below a 1/2 inch. In fact, if you mow this grass variety too high, it may develop thatch problems. Conversely, Canada bluegrass won't tolerate close cuttings and needs to be kept above 2-1/2 inches in order to survive. You should mow the grass at the highest setting on your mower or at least 3 inches. Each time you mow, you should cut no more than 1/3 of the grass height. Note: There are exceptions for some warm season grasses such as bermuda centipede, and bentgrass that grow more dense at lower mower settings.

No. Mowing frequency varies by the season. In the spring, established lawns should be mown as soon as the grass greens and begins to grow. In the summer, close mowing (especially during hot weather) can weaken some grass varieties. As autumn approaches, cool-season grasses begin to grow faster and produce more clippings. Conversely, warm-season grasses begin to slow down. Adjust your mowing habits accordingly.

We typically mow the lawn weekly. We are sometimes able to cut it twice in one week during the heavy growing season. We usually trim markers six times during the growing season. Families are welcome to trim their markers more often if they wish, provided they take care not to disturb the soil. Soil disruption allows for weed seeds to take root and grow.

Improper mowing is probably the cause. You’re probably removing too much of the grass leaf at each mowing. You should either mow more frequently so you never remove more than one third of the leaf blade, or you need to level out your yard’s high spots because the mower is cutting too low as it goes over bumps. You’re looking a common lawn problem: iron deficiency. Usually, you’ll find this condition in soils with high pH.

You can generally start mowing 3-4 weeks after seeding your Bermuda lawn. Occasionally if growth is rampant, you may need to mow within 2 weeks after planting. Thereafter, mowing will be required in a range of 3 to 7 days depending on various factors. Bermudas are mowed from around 3/8 inch to 1 & 1/2 inches in height. The Robomower can navigate between two plots only if they are connected with a patch of grass. The minimum width of this area between the plots is 5 feet for all models but the RL1000. The RL1000 can navigate through a patch as narrow as 3 feet, using entry points and navigating between plots on Edge mode.

If you choose you can use the manual remote control. The unit can be used like a walk behind mower. In this mode the Robomower can be used in tight spots, narrow strips, and larger slopes.

This is the sign of a glazed leach field. Make a solution of 4 scoops of SEPTICARE to 2 gallons of water and, using a sprinkling can, spread it over the area of standing water (it won't work if there is no standing water.) Also follow the instructions given in the answer to the previous question (..water back-up..). Do this on a daily basis until the condition clears. Leach fields do not become clogged overnight.

We recommend waiting at least one or two days before you water or mow. It is better to water a day before mowing to allow fertilizer to dissolve. Mowing is only a factor if you bag the clippings. You will be bagging up all of the beneficial chemicals or nutrients in the lawn. Remember summer applications need water more than others.

No it does not. Its special navigation method leads it in a triangular pattern that changes directions and covers the whole plot many times. This means every square foot of the plot, unless it is too large for one operation, will be mowed from two to eight different directions, providing a fine groomed "carpet" appearance once done.

The Robomower wire needs to be at least 25 feet from the Lawnbott wire, the father away the better. The Lawnbott wire is always active, even when the Lawnbott is parked, while the Robomower wire is only active when the Robomower RL1000 is not in the charging base. The Robomower will act unpredictably (it may even cross the boundary) if it picks up the Lawnbott wire signal.

Mowing heights vary depending on the dominant grasses in each lawn. As a rule of thumb Tall Fescues should be kept between 3-3 1/2", Bluegrasses should be kept at 2 1/2" and Zoysia should be kept at 1 1/2". These heights should be maintained throughout the growing season. Be careful not to let the lawn get so high that you cut off more than 1/3 of the plant when you mow. This can damage the plant and open it up for disease.

Our customers report mowing 2 to 4 times per season. The rate of regrowth depends on the type of aquatic weeds, the temperature, the depth at which one is able to cut, etc. We've had some customers tell us their lily pads didn't regrow at all after having kept them under the surface for a season!

You can mow approximately 1 acre every 3 hours. The time spent will depend on the type and density of the weeds, your boat motor, etc. We suggest cutting at a slow, steady pace to prevent any serious damage in the event you encounter an obstacle. Several of our customers use two Lake Mowers™, one on each side of the boat, to cut a wider area in one pass.
