In another of a long line of Design Decisions I Regret, xv tries to do all sorts of clever things with regard to the image window's position on screen. Some Plasmavision screens come with a built in tuner, these are denoted by a T as the middle of the three letter block in the model number. Other models will display a TV picture from a tuning device such as a Satellite, Cable or Freeview Set-top Box or an analogue TV tuner. To view the picture you simply need to connect the two devices together using the correct cable.

Image resolution defined by the number of horizontal lines a TV is capable of producing. The more horizontal lines within an image, the better the resolution. However, most of today's TVs are capable of producing more resolution than any common source signal can deliver.

Prior to January 4, 2004, landscape-oriented document images were not turned so as to be viewed in a portrait-oriented mode. This primarily affected travel invoice vouchers (entry codes 50 and 57) and some forms of supporting documentation. The alternatives available for those images are to view them as they appear on your monitor, or print the image and turn it manually. Landscape-oriented document images scanned after January 5, 2004, have all been turned so they have a portrait orientation.

The pixel size of the image is selectable - 40microm (Super) or 64microm (High). The bit depth is 14 bits grayscale, and the spatial resolution is 12.5 lp/mm. The DIGORA® for Windows software supports 8 to 16-bit grayscale and 24-bit True Colour images. What does that mean? Basically, high quality images with an exceptionally wide dynamic range. The result is that even small details like 0.06 mm root canal files are visible.

On PCs: Click on the Start button and select Settings and then across to Control Panel. When the window opens, double-click on the Display icon and another window will open. Click on the Settings tab along the top of the window. In the bottom right you'll see an area labeled "Screen area." Click on and move the slider until 800 by 600 appears. Now click OK and then click OK again and finally click Yes and your screen is reset.

To do this, I use something that I call a "sliver". Your main image takes up part of the area, and the sliver fills in the rest. To make a sliver, just take a one-pixel vertical slice of your image, and save it separately. If your image is a photo, or other complex image, you may have to take a wider slice, and edit it to make the ends match up. Make a table, of width 100%. Put your main image in the table, and set your sliver as the background image for the table.

My MOm, had dibillitating rhuematoid arthritis for many yrs. I recently moved back, to her house, which has a water softener, for many yrs. The drinking water was diverted, many yrs back. My cat started having (thyroid) problems, and had been drinking, from the tub water, for a few monthes. I was wondering, if somehow, the water softener, may have contributed to my Mothers' rhuematoid arthritis and my cats, urinary and thyroid problems.

Tough call, but probably not. There is nothing magical about the Xbox - or any game console - as far as screen burn-in is concerned. The problem rests with the fixed graphics that most games have on-screen: Health meters, scores, timers, etc. These fixed objects are no more or less dangerous than the CNN logo or the ESPN score box in a football game. Anything that sits in the same place on the screen for a long time *might* cause burn-in. Lower the contrast and brightness of your TV.

When the photo is only the quarter of the screen on TV, you must be seeing the disc menu. Every disc menu selects the first photo of your photo slideshow you've prepared in the first step. When you see the main disc menu, please remember to press the digital button ( 1, 2, 3,..) on your DVD player's remote control to play the corresponding slide shows.

Get a graphics card with TV-out or buy a bigger monitor. As of March 2006, there is only one standalone player that supports MKV, MP4 or OGM, and that is an Xbox running Xbox Media Center (XBMC) DevBlog. Transcoding to DVD is a very bad idea for many reasons, and it's very difficult, bordering on impossible, to do it with MKV files with variable frame rate (VFR).
