So, the entry visa can expire once you have entered the United States, without any effect on your legal status. You need to renew it only if you leave the U.S. and want to return in the same status. At that point you will have to visit a U.S. Embassy or Consulate outside of the U.S. and apply for a new visa. As long as you remain in the U.S.

Your I-20 must remain in this sealed envelope until you reach the U.S. At the airport, the immigration inspector will open the envelope as part of the process of admitting you to the United States to begin your studies. Should you open the envelope prior to arriving, the immigration inspector may not allow you to enter the U.S.

No. You will need a valid SEVIS Form I-20 and a valid unexpired Form I-94. Be sure that you do not have a terminated SEVIS record indicating that you are out of status.

The validity date is based upon the earlier of: your or your dependents' passport validity date(s), or the medical validity date(s). Medical examination results are valid for 12 months after the initial medical examination. Immigrant visas cannot be extended once issued. If applicants do not use the visas within their validity, they must reapply for immigration to Canada.
