Our approach is to maintain these unique finishes with water-based technology. If your finish is 5 years old or newer, we recommend using our new Cory Satin Polyester Conditioner. That depends. Teak will naturally weather to a soft grey or patina color over time when exposed to the elements. This process could take up to a year depending on your climate. If you desire this natural finish, do nothing to your patio teak furniture. Applying a teak oil will add to the natural transformation of the weathered look. No, pressure-treated Pine, Cypress, White Cedar, Shorea and Mahogany can all be left natural (and many people do this). However, your unfinished furniture will last longer if a finish is applied. At the minimum, we recommend treatment with an easily applied water sealant of the type used on outdoor decks (we do this ourselves). Left this way, the wood will slowly weather to a soft silver gray. Some natural cracks may appear, however these do not usually affect the strength of the wood.

The wood finishing is a very time consuming part of building a custom rifle. It does not require too much skill, mostly care and attention. We estimate it takes about 10 hours to sand the stocks to a nice surface, and a couple of hours (spread over several weeks) to put the finish on.
