Cetol 1 is flexible and allows the wood to breath, yet repels water so that it beads on the surface (very important in protecting the wood. Cetol 1 also has a fungicide to help protect it against fungal growth (important in humid or coastal climates) as well as contains a UV inhibitor that protects the wood from graying due to exposure to the sun. It does not crack, chip, blister or peel, and will help prevent "checking" of the wood (term used to describe when the grain raises up).

If the pressure treated lumber is brand new…let it weather for six months, or so to dry out, clean it and then treat it with DEFY Deck Stain for Hardwoods. If it is older and weathered, it will be much more porous. In that case, after properly cleaning it, treat it with DEFY Epoxy Fortified Wood Stain. The best way is always going to be to use a brush. Why is cedar best? For a threshold we recommend either three coats of Cetol DEK or two coats of Cetol DEK Finish. Allow 24 hours in between coats. Cetol 1 and Cetol 23 Plus is a three coat system and is not recommended for a deck. In order to get durability from the product another coat should be applied. Acid Stain is not for every concrete floor. The concrete MUST be bare. There can be no sealers, curing compounds, bond breakers, paints, etc. on the surface. The surface must be clean and free of grease or any other contamination that would prevent the reaction from occurring? Concrete Floor Stains can be used on the interior or exterior. While some companies may tell you that some Concrete Floor Acid Stain colors may be more sensitive to moisture and can not be used on the exterior the Artistic Decor System stains can be used on just about any concrete surface.
