Cetol 1 also has a fungicide to help protect it against fungal growth (important in humid or coastal climates) as well as contains a UV inhibitor that protects the wood from graying due to exposure to the sun. It does not crack, chip, blister or peel, and will help prevent "checking" of the wood (term used to describe when the grain raises up).

Cetol 1 and Cetol 23 Plus is a three coat system and is not recommended for a deck. In order to get durability from the product another coat should be applied. Other than removing the product and using a recommended deck system this is the only suggestion we can make. The deck products cannot be used over the Cetol 1 and Cetol 23 Plus.
