Seeds are produced in the ovary of a flower when pollination of the flower has taken place. Plants may produce any number of seeds... from the impatiens, which may produce thousands from just one flower, to the lima bean, which produces just two or three in a pod.

Most citrus come absolutely true from seeds. They do this by producing "nucellar embryos," which are not produced by sexual fertilization at all; rather, they are tiny "tissue cultures" of the mother plant, packaged within the seed. The zygotic (sexually produced) embryo usually fails to survive in such seeds, so you have a seed that may make several seedlings, all of which are identical to their mother. There are exceptions. A seed is a computer that has a complete copy of a certain torrent. Once your client finishes downloading, it will remain open until you click the Finish button (or otherwise close it.) This is known as being a seed or seeding. You can also start a BT client with a complete file, and once BT has checked the file it will connect and seed the file to others. Bamboo flowers at irregular, and usually very lengthy, intervals. In some varieties the intervals can be longer than 50 years. Radioactive seeds emit low-energy gamma rays (which are like x-rays) and low energy beta particles (which are like electrons). However, the titanium shell of the seed filters out nearly all the emitted radiation except that which is desirable for the treatment of cancer.
