No. The unit is operated by a 12 volt battery located inside the control box. The batteries are trickle-charged by a transformer that plugs into a standard 110 volt outlet. The wire from that transformer to the control box is a low voltage wire that can be up to 1000' long. For longer distances, the 110 volt electric would have to be installed closer to the gate or solar panels can be purchased to recharge the battery.

All of the models are available in 220 volt for those countries that require it. We have shipped to many countries outside of the US and Canada. These are normally shipped via FedEx International Economy. They guarantee that delivery will occur within a week of shpment, but if space is available on earlier flights it will arrive sooner. Solid wood or other solid gates should use the PRO4000XL for the extra power needed during windy conditions. The slide gate operator is not recommended for the type of slide gate that uses a leading roller wheel on the ground and doesn't have a counter-balance to hook the back side of the chain to the gate in order to close the gate completely. It will hold it closed firmly, but not securely. Someone could push hard enough to break the actuator arm or attaching hardware. Purchase the optional GTO electric lock for secure locking. Not out of the box. We do not support modification or use beyond the intended use of the product. We did some experimenting at the Fence Farm (tm). The safety feature that reverses the gate must be considered with lift gates. We tried counter-balances on the gate and did get it working quite well. We wouldn't recommend it though.
