Crabzilla.net - Frequently Asked Questions
There are several ways to make a crabitat more humid, the easiest of which is probably misting the crabitat. The only problem with misting is that it tends to cause a temporary spike in humidity, followed by a return to lower humidity. To help prevent rapid loss of humidity it helps to mist items in the crabitat that will absorb the water and slowly wick moisture into the air, such as items made from wood or terra cotta.
Endurance World: FAQ
The reason you feel slower in humidity is because the sweat doesn't evaporate as well to provide cooling. It is simply not possible to lose as much heat through evaporation as you generate, so your body temperature rises. Result: you feel fatigued, which makes you feel weak and ready to surrender, may be forcing you to slow down, thus generating less heat, so that your body temperature can return back to normal.
Cigar Smoker's FAQ
Cigars are naturally hydroscopic products. In common with many organic substances, they dry out in the absence of humidity in the air, or absorb moisture from the ambient air. They establish an equilibrium with the atmospheric humidity which surrounds them. a cigar will slowly dry out and loose essential oils. At 74% and higher, organic molecules will break down out-of-order, producing unwanted tastes. More importantly, at 80% or higher, you're leaving your stogies wide open to grow mold.
Frequently Asked Questions
Hot and humid climates increase the risk for dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. Proper hydration before, during, and after physical activities is important.
This is not generally a major concern where most people from the US, Canada and Europe live in Central America. Remember, the climate is cooler in the mountains and most homes and businesses use air-conditioning. Also, much of the concerns that existed two or three decades ago don’t apply as much today. Note, there are mosquitoes in the hot and humid areas of Central America, but if you’re in the commonly traveled areas, they should be of little concern.

Cool-Off | Frequently Asked Questions about Misting Systems
Yes. The evaporative cooling concept will work any time you are able achieve evaporation. The more complete the evaporation, the more effective the system will work. Cool-Off's patented ceramic MicroJet Nozzle releases a droplet size that is 1-3 microns compared to traditional brass nozzles which release an average droplet size of 7-10 microns. For areas with humidity above 80%, temperature reductions will be as high as 20 degrees.
Aquality Water Systems : Misting FAQ's
Absolutely. The evaporative cooling concept works any time you are able to achieve evaporation. The faster and more complete the evaporation, the more effective the system will work. For areas with humidity above 80%, temperature reductions will be as high as 10 degrees. For humidity levels between 40% and 80%, temperature reductions will be as high as 20 degrees. Below 40% humidity, the temperature reductions may be as much as 35 degrees.
Also... read about how to use a stick blender on my Modern Procedures page. 5 minutes of steady blending is a lot. I would only blend for a minute or so, turn it off and stir with the blender in the off position (I use the wand like a spoon) until you "stir it down"... then on again for about 30 seconds or so, off, on... etc. until you have a "true" trace that won't stir down. Don't wait for trace to be too thick before adding your scent... I like the pudding stage (or gravy works!).

If you wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, shoes, and socks to reduce the risk of mosquito bites, you might be at greater risk for heat stress on hot, humid days. To avoid symptoms of heat stress, you should: Use extra caution if you are required to wear clothing on the job that limits evaporation--you could develop heat stress much more quickly.
FAQ's about patio deck tiles
The small gaps left between the slats of wood allow the wood to naturally expand and contract as needed. Under some conditions, a slight cupping of the wood slats may occur after heavy rainfall, but this will disappear as the surface dries.

Because the DryWave prevents mold and mildew by raising the air temperature, in climates where the temperature is already high, the DryWave has little to no effect. The DryWave is not a dehumidifier and does not collect moisture – this is what is needed for these climates.
