The 200E comes with a new type of power management; push the power button once when the system is ON tells the systm to go into suspend mode. You can modify this setting in the BIOS/Power Management settings under the option SOFT-OFF by PWR-BTTN.

This is becoming more of a common problem because a lot of computers are now coming out with just USB connections. The way around this is to either purchase a USB to Serial port converter, or contact the manufacturer of the product to see if they have a USB connection for the instrument.
