Of course, you will want your kitten to be weaned and box trained when you take him home, but he should also be independent of his mother, well socialized, and have a strong immune system. When a kitten is ready to go to his new home depends a lot upon the kitten himself. Most responsible breeders wait until they're at least 12 weeks old, but some kittens aren't ready until they are about 16 weeks old.

I let them go at 8 weeks old only because 99% of people want them as young and as tiny as possible. I used to sell them at 10 weeks old, but found out that was really bad for business. Now, I let them go at 8 weeks old, but only after I warn people that if you expect to go to work all day long come home and throw food at your puppy, and then go out to dinner, do not expect a healthy puppy when you return home, and have your credit card ready for vet bills.

Breeder and show kittens are only available to show homes because it is our strong belief that showing cats must be a part of a successful, responsible breeding program. Also, we work hard to breed the best Persians we can and do not want the fruits of our efforts, our precious kittens, to end up in BYB programs or programs that breed for pets only.
