The Department of Transportation is responsible for the repair of all street traffic lights with the City of Los Angeles.

In New York City, you may call the New York City Call Center at 311. The Department of Transportation will investigate and make the necessary repairs. When you call, give specific information about the location of the signal so the neccessary repairs can be made as soon as possible.

To report a broken or malfunctioning traffic signal in all areas of Seattle, call SDOT at (206) 386-1206. You can also use our Street Maintenance Online Request Form to report broken or malfunctioning traffic signals. Visit our Traffic Signal Program web pages for more information about traffic signals.

To report it call the Electrical Division at 231-7742 if it is during office hours 8am to 5pm, otherwise call the Anniston Police Department at 256-238-1800.

If you have an urgent or emergency request, please call Facilities Management at (661) 654-2211 first and then follow up with a work order form. All requests, even those for general maintenance, need to be report to Facilities Management using the work order form. When using the work order form you will need to enter your request information in the "Action Requested" field, where the PeopleSoft chartfield names appear. The field that has a character limit is for the subject only.

To report broken, missing or illegible traffic signs, please contact Public Works at 916.625.5500. To report a missing or damaged sign after hours or on a weekend, call Police Dispatch at 916.625.5400.

A: Call Electric Line Division at 419-468-5520 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. After these hours call the Galion Police Dept. at 419-468-9111.

Contact the Street Light/Traffic Signal Maintenance Section at (619) 397-6166. This number can be called 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you notice a malfunctioning traffic signal, please call the City immediately.

Call Public Works at (650) 595-7427. Traffic signal lights on El Camino are maintained by Cal Trans and can be reached at (650) 557-1309.

The City maintains 38 traffic control signal or flashing light systems. All of our traffic signal systems have built in redundancies and fail safe protection to ensure that problems are rare. However in the event of power surges and outages we can experience a very serious condition in which the traffic light goes out completely.

If there is a traffic light out call the Sanford Police Department non-emergency line 407.322.4141. The Police Department will contact Seminole County Traffic Engineering.

Except for signals inside the Cities of Durham and Raleigh, DOT Signal Technicians are dispatched from the Division Traffic Services office ((919) 477-2914). They may respond from wherever in the Division they are working. Very often a signal they are called to is working fine when they get there. It is very helpful to report what the signal appears to be doing wrong (flashing, power out, bulbs out, etc.

You can obtain copies of traffic accident reports of incident reports by visiting our Department between the hours of 8AM and 5PM, Monday through Friday. If a traffic signal light within the City of Brea is not functioning, call Maintenance Services at (714) 990-7691 during normal business hours. If after hours or on weekends, call Brea police dispatch at (714) 990-7911. For those signals on Imperial Highway, CalTrans will be the responsible agency.

The California Vehicle Code requires a driver to treat an inoperable traffic signal as an all-way stop. If the signal is operating, but you notice a malfunction such as a light bulb burned out or some other problem, please contact Public Works immediately at 916.625.5500 and give exact location of the signal light(s).
