What is curing?

SandFree.com - Wood Floor Refinishing - No Dust! No Odor! No...
Curing is the hardening of the urethane. It hardens from the top down. Therefore, the urethane may feel dry, but it isn't hard. As the hardening continues downward, the urethane is curing. The urethane is more than 50% cured in 6 hours, 90% cured in 24 hours. 100% curing occurs in 48 hours. See similar questions...

What is gunite? Is that the same as shotcrete?

Pineloch Pool Construction
Shotcrete was originally called "Gunite" when Carl Akeley designed a doubled chambered cement gun in 1910. His apparatus pneumatically applied a sand and cement mixture at a high velocity to the intended surface. Other trademarks were soon developed known as Guncrete, Pneucrete, Blastcrete, Blocrete, Jetcrete, etc., all referring to pneumatically applied concrete. See similar questions...

What is a "gunite" pool?

Frequently asked questions from Avalon Pools - An Atlanta Aw...
A "gunite" pool is the same kind of pool you've seen all of your life at hotels, schools and apartment complexes. It's a steel reinforced concrete structure that's applied with a high pressure spray, shot from a hose with a "gun" attachment. The process can be either a dry method (where sand and cement are brought to the jobsite and mixed there) or a wet method (where the mixture has been prepared at a batch plant and brought to the jobsite). What if my substrate is not properly curing?

UV Curing Lamp FAQ
Check for external contamination of the lamp by items like: spray, powder, reflector material or other particles. Make sure that coating and ink material is fully mixed before application. This allows the photo initiator to be evenly distributed in the coating media. Verify the number of operating hours that the lamp has run. Different applications result in different lamp lifetimes. What if the outside edges of my substrate are not curing?

UV Curing Lamp FAQ

Should I use a primer for curing an anaerobic?

Frequently Asked Questions
Almost all products will cure on metal surfaces without a primer. Therefore, primers are recommended for use on non-metallic surfaces with anaerobics to achieve a practical cure speed. See similar questions...

Gunite or fiberglass, which pool type should I choose?

Frequently asked questions from Avalon Pools - An Atlanta Aw...
We build and install both. Gunite pools are custom and more personal. They cost more and take longer to install, but we feel the added time is clearly worth it. Building a gunite pool is like building your own house, you get to pick all the details and when it is complete, you will generally feel better about it since you helped design it. But, fiberglass is a great alternative. They are installed quicker and are less expensive. And, fiberglass comes in many variations today. See similar questions...

Can a higher-powered lamp be used in our existing curing system?

UV Curing Lamp FAQ
Power supplies and UV lamps are usually designed and matched to provide peak performance. The lamp is cooled in a specially designed lamp irradiator assembly, which should provide an appropriate cooled environment for reliable lamp operation. Usually, upgrading would require both the lamp and power supply to be replaced, and additional modifications to the lamp irradiator assembly to provide an appropriate environment. What is the difference between healing and curing?

Carol Tietjen - Hilton Head Healing Arts
Healing is the process of becoming whole again, of returning to the state of well-being and balance you are intended to have. Particularly in our Western culture, which prefers to take a linear, material, pragmatic approach to illness, the goal is symptomatic relief, or curing. Addressing underlying energetic imbalances and eliminating causes is the goal of healing. See similar questions...

What is the best method for drying and curing?

FAQ
To prevent bud mold spreading in your crop we advise to trim the buds from larger leaves and stalks straight after harvest. It is less work intensive and prevents damage to the trichomes to trim the buds while they are still fresh. If you like to preserve the large head buds they can be hung from a line after trimming. The small to medium trimmed buds can be spread out on any type of screen that promotes air passage such as mosquito mesh, simple meshed curtains, etc. See similar questions...
