It seems the game has become extremely slow to load again, recently. It's gotten to the point where I can visit several other websites every time I click on "attack". You could be suffering from Internet lag that is often caused by poor connection between your ISP and our server. That is something beyond our control but your own connection is often improved upon if you close out other bandwidth-consuming applications such as Internet browsers, file sharing programs, chat programs, etc. Sent in by player "perform23" and edited by support

Do you meet or exceed the recommended specification (User Manual). Is the game marked "high system requirement"? Read Troubleshooting > Performance (User Manual).

For example, when you click the Bet button during a game, the ComePlay program on your computer immediately sends that message to the main server, which in turn sends it to all players in your hand. You have to use the SpeedFix to be able to change the speed of the game. If you use it, there are two ways to influence the speed: If you always want to play at a certain speed (for example the fast speed SUPAPLEX.EXE runs at), you can use a command line option: "SPFIX54.EXE *n" where the "n" is a number from 0 to 9. Use 0 to recreate the fast speed of SUPAPLEX.EXE. Other numbers will use other speeds. Make sure there is a space between "SPFIX54.

The easiest way to slow down old games is to hit the Turbo button on your computer, if it has one. Of course, not all computers have Turbo buttons, and not all will slow down all games the way you'd like. So, check out the MoSlo utility (it can be downloaded from the Essential Utilities page), one of many that allow you to slow down a DOS program. It works quite well for most games. Since there is no frame-skip or auto frame-skip in UltraHLE, the only way to speed up or slow down emulation is to change the resolution which you are running the game at, or disable the sound. slow" in this context is often shorthand for "high CPU usage" - we have observed part of the emulator using higher than "normal" amounts of CPU time in these cases. These are fairly subjective judgements. If you are lucky enough to have a fast system, you may not notice any slowdown, because overall the emulator speed stays pegged at the limiter speed. It is likely that people on slower system are noticing the slowdown that the note refers to. Just ignore the note in this case.

There is a once-per-process-per-type overhead with XmlSerializer. So the first time you serialize or deserialize an object of a given type in an application, there is a significant delay. This normally doesn't matter, but it may mean, for example, that XmlSerializer is a poor choice for loading configuration settings during startup of a GUI application.
