This varies somewhat depending on the type of finch. Usually around 14 days of incubation, but a general range can span 12-18 days. I would never personally set double yolk eggs. I have seen deformed chicks in them, but never any that hatched. Sort of like "Siamese twin" chicks, if you like. It's not worth the trouble.

Answer: My simple answer would have to be no, but bear in mind that in a few cases I've accidentally forgotten a hatch and had it turn out alright. I do, however, consider those cases to be the exception, rather than the rule.
