Can RAMCHECK support DDR modules?
FAQ: DDR SUPPORT & TEST RESULTSYes. RAMCHECK's optional DDR 184-pin Adapter (p/n INN-8668-6) supports modern 184-pin DIMM DDR modules and is at the heart of our new DDR Series. A low-cost converter (p/n INN-8668-6-1) supports 200-pin S.O. DIMM DDR modules. Due to the importance of DDR technology, we have introduced the RAMCHECK PLUS bundle, a combination package of RAMCHECK and the DDR adapter.
Can RAMCHECK support PC-133 (and higher speed) modules?
FAQ: SDRAM Support & Test ResultsYes. RAMCHECK's test engine can reach maximum internal frequency of 200MHz, and can test SDRAM modules up to 166MHz. You will need to download the latest firmware revision and also to review Application Note INN-8558-APN18 that discusses PC-133 determination.
What is SDRAM Technology? Can RAMCHECK support SDRAM modules without an adapter?
FAQ: SDRAM Support & Test ResultsSynchronous DRAM technology emerged in the mid nineties and provided a revolutionary change in the way DRAM interfaced to a computer. It synchronizes all the read/write transfers to a system clock, thus providing significantly faster transfer rate for contiguous (same Row Address) group of data. A Synchronous DRAM can burst up to a full columns length of continuous data at the device clock rate (currently 150Mhz and higher rates).
Can RAMCHECK support slower SDRAM modules including the PC-100 or PC-66?
FAQ: SDRAM Support & Test ResultsYes. RAMCHECK has a much higher range than our previous SIMCHECK II technology and it supports older SDRAM modules running at 66MHz or 100MHz, as well as the state-of-the art faster modules. Yes, RAMCHECK identifies this module by displaying "SPD=CL2 at 100MHz" in the last summary screen as well as in the Test Log. .
Can I program the SPD on the DDR Module with RAMCHECK?
FAQ: DDR SUPPORT & TEST RESULTSYes. RAMCHECK provides full support for SPD programming. However, we recommend only advanced users program SPD, since wrong data in the SPD will crash the computer. Please review our FAQ page for SPD for further information. SPD warnings appear when the RAMCHECK determines different size/structure than the information recorded in the SPD. The modules may still be good and the SPD inconsistency issue needs to be checked and corrected.
How can I set stricter test conditions when testing DDR on RAMCHECK?
FAQ: DDR SUPPORT & TEST RESULTSYou can elect to use the speed setup feature to set a specific frequency rate for your tested module. This will insure a locked setting that will force the module to work at only this speed. Please refer to your owner's manual under Section 5.3.2 to review the information on TESTING DUT AT SETUP SPEED. Alternatively, you may also use the Change-On-The-Fly feature (described in Section 4 of your owner's manual) to set a one-time speed setting.
Why does RAMCHECK report 266MHz when I test DDR333 or DDR400 modules?
FAQ: DDR SUPPORT & TEST RESULTSYou must use (as always) the most recent version of our firmware. The firmware download is free and easy. If you still cannot test above 266MHz, your unit may need to be upgraded to the current high-speed DDR Pro test adapter. Please review the DDR calibration and upgrade page. You must use (as always) the most recent version of our firmware. The download is free and easy. Please make sure that you have purchased an original INNOVENTIONS "RAMCHECK DDR S.O.
Can RAMCHECK or SIMCHECK II guarantee that my memory modules are 100% accurate?
Memory Tester Accuracy and ReliabilityUnfortunately, no. No memory tester, including those costing $500,000 and more, can achieve exhaustive tests (that is, 100% accuracy) due to the virtually unlimited possibilities of data combinations which may be stored inside a memory device. Therefore, while we continuously strive to improve RAMCHECK's test algorithms and design, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy of the test results.
What chipset and motherboard companies support DDR?
SpecTek Select - WelcomeThe type of memory a motherboard will accept is a function of the motherboard's chipset. Almost every major chipset and motherboard company supports DDR.
Can I use DDR memory or even some old EDO modules?
RAM FAQ for boards based on the i440bx chipsetNo, you can't. DDR memory is not backwards compatible. And you most likely can't use EDO. The bx chipset indeed has support for EDO memory, but most boards don't (an exception to that are the bx based boards from supermicro). If you really happen to have a board which has support for EDO modules (check your manual) you can't mix EDO rams with PC66/100/133 sdrams, and you can only run at 66mhz FSB (that is, you'd have to use a P2 up to 333mhz or a Celeron up to 766mhz).
My machine uses DDR modules Can I install DDR2 memory?
Offtek.co.uk |No, DDR2 DIMM memory modules are not backwards compatible with DDR DIMM, due to incompatible pin configurations, core voltage, and memory chip technology. DDR2 modules are designed with a different "key" in the edge connector to prevent insertion into incompatible memory sockets such as DDR motherboard. A DDR2 SDRAM DIMM will not fit into a standard SDRAM DIMM socket or a DDR DIMM socket. DDR2 modules use a 1.8V power supply, providing a big power saving over the 2.5V DDR modules.
Can I test regular 168-pin SDRAM modules while the DDR adapter is installed?
FAQ: DDR SUPPORT & TEST RESULTSNo. YOU MUST REMOVE the DDR adapter from RAMCHECK in order to test the 168-pin SDRAM (or EDO/FPM) modules. DDR and SDRAM use different voltages, and the DDR adapter further loads the SDRAM test bus. To avoid flexing damage to the DDR adapter, please allow the DDR adapter to cool down prior to removing it from RAMCHECK, and carefully remove using two hands .
Can you mix DDR modules of different sizes (in MB)?
SpecTek Select - WelcomeYes. A module's size in megabytes is usually referred to as its "density." You can use DDR modules of different densities in the same system. For example, you can use one 32MB module, one 64MB module, and one 128MB module. To find the total memory in a system, add together the memory of each module. In the example above, your total memory is 32MB + 64MB + 128MB = 224MB. The reason for the hard drive activity is limited memory.
What is DDR?
Easy Conference Rooms Frequently Asked QuestionsDay Delegate Rate. This is the cost per person in hiring the conference room. Day Delegate Rates normally come as a package typically including room hire, teas/coffees and lunch. DDR packages will vary from operator to operator and package to package.
Can I move modules around?
Synthesizers.com --- FAQ - Frequently Asked QuestionsYes, it's very easy to move modules around and most people eventually do so to match their patching style. Synthesizers.com systems are very modular and most modules can be moved to any location in the cabinet. Disconnect the AC Power cord, unscrew the module, pull it out, and disconnect the small DC power connector. Power cables are Keyed to help eliminate incorrect connection. Some modules have Aid modules next to them with cables that connect the two behind the panel.
How many 100vg modules can the Switch 2000 support?
ProCurve Networking by HP - Support - FAQsNo. Transceivers need to be ordered separately so that the customer can have whatever type is desired; UTP or Fiber.
Can SIMCHECK II support PC-133 modules?
SDRAM Support and Test Results FAQYes. You will need to download the latest firmware revision and also to review Application Note INN-8558-APN18 that discusses PC-133 determination.
