I am fifteen weeks pregnant and I have been advised not to sleep on my back. Why?

Howick Midwife
You can sleep on your back in early pregnancy or until you feel comfortable to do so. As the pregnancy advances you may experience a sense of faintness if you lie on your back. This is called supine hypotension. It is caused by the weight of your uterus and your baby pressing on the major blood vessels. This can be alleviated by the number of pillows you use. If you need to sleep on your side then the left side is best because it can help increase blood flow to the placenta.

I have been advised to use progesterone cream once pregnant. What are your thoughts about this?

Defense Nutrition? | FAQ
I doubt the effectiveness of these creams. Nothing can substitute the progesterone promoting effects of raw nuts and seeds. Do not mix grains with nuts, do no mix grains or nuts with sweets. If you eat anything sweet - combine it only with protein (eggs or cheese) and vegetables or beans. The book shows you how to make best choices when dinning out. This can make a substantial difference in weight loss. Do not start with the shake until around 10 a.m. See similar questions...

This is a pretty confusing issue for a lot of pregnant women. The fact is when you're in your 5th week of pregnancy, you are 4 weeks pregnant! During the week you start your period, you are in your first week of pregnancy, but you have not yet completed any weeks so you are zero weeks pregnant. Think about it this way - you don't say that a baby is one year old during his first year of life do you? He is not considered to be one year old until he's actually in his second year. There is no evidence to indicate with certainty that colouring your hair can be harmful to your baby.
