There are several programs you can use to stream movies in the Archive. Because we allow users to upload video files in any format, the same player will not always work for every single file, so it's a good idea to have a couple of programs available that you can try. Also, some files simply can't be streamed. Usually, this happens when the program that created the video file uses a codec that our software doesn't understand.

Each service will allow you to make a list of movies you want delivered, and in the order you want them delivered. This is called a "queue" (pronounced exactly like the letter "Q".) Your queue needs to be loaded with a wide selection of movies, both new releases and older titles. Because every title you request may not be available at the time it's placed in your queue, we suggest keeping at least 20-40 titles on your list at all times.

No, not currently. This is something we really wanted to see, but they're just not prepared to do yet. If you're Japanese, however, you can download video via P-TV on So-net. That's a pretty subjective question. You can't stream media to or from it; you can copy media to it. But of the consoles, currently Microsoft is closest to getting it right with the Xbox 360 as a Windows Media Connect client, outside Sony's "You only need the PS3, as it is the center for your digital life" angle.

A stream is similar to a TV channel - different channels have different content. With Bose? link, both streams deliver content from audio sources enabled by the Lifestyle? system. For example, one stream might be music from the internal CD player, while the second stream could be generated by the FM tuner, or even a connected component, like a TV.

No. We prefer to receive payment before shipping. All to often, people forget to send the payment once they have the movies.

No. Most of the movies I review here have been rented from Netflix, or are borrowed from friends. I won't buy a DVD unless I feel I will watch it more than three times. I figure, if I can watch it three times, it's probably good enough to watch over and over again.

Movies are just $1 per night after the initial rental period. You have 21 days before our system charges you the $25 purchase price of the DVD, at which point the movie is yours to keep.

You are allowed to check out as many movies as you like in either DVD or VHS format. We have no limits.

For STREAMS, MusicNet works on a Subscription Pay Rate Permanent Download model. MusicNet does not pay a pre-set amount for each stream. For each three month period, MusicNet calculates how many songs were streamed and how much money was paid to MusicNet for subscriptions in that period. This rate changes from period to period based on how many songs are streamed and how much money was paid to MusicNet for subscriptions.

Yes. Two 48HFP movies were shot at least partially on film stock. Both of those teams had connections with labs that enabled them to develop the film and transfer it in the 48 hour time period. VLC Media Player is the most versatile player we've found for playing the wide variety of movies found in the Archive. And, it's free! We also recommend MPlayer. We are endevouring to make it easy to understand what you can do with these movies, but this is a work-in-progress. Many of the movies and collections are licensed with Creative Commons Licenses. If the movie has a CC License, it will be noted on the movie's detail page. Click on this link to find out exactly what the permissions are for that particular film. Some films may have the contact information listed for the filmmaker.

There are several steps to the process. First, I create the rendition. For pieces that I can perform adequately myself, I'll use a MIDI recording of my performance as a starting point. For pieces that are well-suited to the conductor program, I'll perform them using that tool and save the result. Some pieces have enough instruments that it works better to perform the part for each instrument separately, and layer them (sound on sound). Sometimes I use a combination of techniques.
