Delivery of your new cap or tonneau is a function of three factors - production schedule, production time, and shipping. Depending upon the flow of business, your unit will typically be added to our production schedule within 4 to 8 days. Once scheduled, actual production time of a unit is 2 to 3 days. Though lightweight and flexible, Raider truck caps are remarkably strong, especially when properly installed. With the proper factory reinforcements, a Raider truck cap can support a factory-installed Yakima Track Mount or Fixed Mount rack (capacity 225 lbs evenly distributed). Raider truck caps and tonneaus can easily support the weight of several inches of snow, too. Keep in mind, though, that weight must be distributed to avoid damaging or breaking the fiberglass shell. Our paint manufacturers recommend NOT washing or waxing your new tonneau for the first 90 days (see below). After that time, we suggest routine washing with a mild car soap and soft rag or sponge. Apply a quality paste wax designed for automotive finishes twice a year. Armor Lid has been designed to fit closely to the body lines of your vehicle. If properly installed square on the truck bed, it is unlikely that rubbing will occur. If this is a major concern then we recommend that an aftermarket tailgate protector and bed rail caps are installed. A roof rack makes a great addition to a Raider truck cap. If there is any chance you will want to use the added cargo capacity a roof rack provides, make sure you include the rack option when you place your order, so it can be installed by the factory. That depends. If your toolbox is the conventional type of toolbox that sits on top of the rails (like the vast majority of the pickup truck tool boxes), you will have to remove the toolbox to install the cover. However, if you have a toolbox that sets down inside the pickup truck bed and is below the rails of your truck, you can mount the cover right over the toolbox without any problems. In general, our 'cab-high' caps follow the height of the truck cab and continue rearward at that height, parallel to the truck bed rails. Our Model 180/180CC adds about 4". Model 122 heights vary. The interior of a truck cap or tonneau is a rough surface, since it is the unfinished inside part of the molding process - the outside of the cap or tonneau is the finished, painted part. Raider provides an excellent option to "dress up" the interior, using a factory-installed carpet-style headliner.
