One of the great things about basing our work on XML is that there are tools available for practically every computer platform. MetaSynth currently looks at the file 'type' rather than the file extension. AIFF files that originate on the Mac usually have the file type set correctly but files created on PCs usually don't. If you have a file type utility (such as File Typer or File Buddy), check to make sure that the file type is AIFF.
