Why does my notebook shut down when the battery has a charge?

Micon: Technical Support
Most notebooks have power saving features designed to conserve battery charge. Some of these features include screen, memory, and hard drive suspend modes. Depending on the power savings features of your notebook, the computer will power down to conserve power. When the battery charge drops to a certain level, the system will force one of these suspend modes. Check your hardware and software documentation for specific details on the power savings features of your computer.

Does my Converter/Charger completely shut-off when the battery reaches full charge?

FAQ's about power converters
When the battery reaches full charge, the charging current of the converter drops down to between 20 and 25 milliamps. Batteries will self-discharge themselves at this low rate even when no other 12-volt current loads are present. The converter senses this current loss and automatically replaces this lost current to maintain full battery charge. See similar questions...
