No you do not need a full suspension bike. You will definitely need front suspension but you can have just as much fun on a hardtail bike. Ride-On Tours provide hire and demo bikes so if you wish to try out full suspension it can definitely be arranged.

We see more and more hybrids every year. My personal opinion is that BRAG is easier if you use a road bike with skinny tires because it has less road resistance.
