All of the wines that we carry are made on-site in a climate-controlled room in our store. The grapes used for making these wines originate from selected vineyards all around the world and are acquired via our distributors in North America. Whether you’re looking for Old World wines from France, Italy, Germany or Spain, or New World adventures from California, Oregon, Chile, Argentina, Australia or New Zealand, we carry the true regional varietal for you.

In the UK beer (bitter) is also commonly fined using isinglass. Many bottled bitters and most lagers are vegan. Guinness is not suitable for vegans. One ton of grapes (2,000 pounds) yields approximately 165 gallons (624.5 Liters) of wine. 2,000 lbs/624.5 Liters = x lbs/0.750 liters x=2.40 pounds per bottle. 2.40 pounds is about nine clusters of grapes, and nine clusters is about 500 individual grapes. with the skunks, it was due to the high potassium levels found in grapes, this ultimately led to renal faliure and cell death.. the vets fought tooth and nail for mj and stompy, from what lou told me, they are also devasted at the loss.. i'd also add, as i note lou has not, that the skunks got into the grapes themselves overnight, lou and ray did not feed them that many by choice..

Most of our wineries also have vineyards devoted to their favorite varietals and fruits. We also have members who prefer to raise grapes without having a winery. These members sell their grapes to our Tennessee wineries and to local markets.

Where and how to store wines depends on how long you expect to keep them and how serious you are about collecting high quality wine. Most good wines (especially reds, but also some whites) will benefit from short to medium term aging (a few years), so I strongly recommend that you age at least some wine. Never, however, store wine or Champagne in a refrigerator for more than a week or two: it's too cold and too dry! Most of us do not have these perfect conditions. I certainly don't.

To this end, we do offer boxes, with sturdy cardboard padding between bottles, for safely shipping or transporting wines by the case. There is a strong movement currently going on to open up trade between the states, but currently each state has its own rules on whether or not you can send to them.

Many of the common juice and table grapes include the European Vitis vinifera L. and the American Vitis labrusca, while the only common Muscadine species is Muscadinia rotundifolia. Unlike many vinifera grapes, muscadine grapes don't grow in true bunches. The sizes of most muscadine varieties grow to quarter size, and the skins tend to slip away from the pulp. Also, as with most varieties of vinifera grapes, muscadine grapes contain seeds.

Muscadine grapes, Vitis rotundifolia synonym Muscadinia rotundifolia, are native to the southeastern United States and have been cultivated for over 400 years. These grapes are truly America's native grape. The name muscadine usually refers to the purple varieties of the grape, but it technically includes all varieties. Some of the common names for the purple muscadines include bullace, bull grape, bullet grape, southern fox grape.

Sweeping generalities are usually inaccurate. Certainly French wines have the image of being the world's best. Certainly many of the best wines in the world are French. That does not mean that all French wines are wonderful. In fact, there are many mediocre French wines and many outstanding wines from other countries, including the US, Italy, Spain, Germany, Australia and South Africa.
