You should receive a reply to your message from Directory Lookup shortly after it was sent. If the query (i.e. the name you were looking for) results in a single response of one address, you will also receive an attachment listed at the bottom of the message as "Address Book:Firstname Lastname". You can then move the cursor over the attachment and press the thumbwheel to 'Open Attachment'.

The global address book is an address file saved as an ASCII delimited file. This file is placed on a shared network drive. Calypso version 3.x users can import this file into their local address book. Users will not be able to update the global address book. Global address entries appear in the local Calypso address book.

To import your Microsoft Outlook® Address Book to your BlackBerry Internet Service Address Book, please follow these steps: From the Microsoft Outlook® main screen go to File > Import and Export. The Import and Export Wizard appears. From the Choose an action to perform list, select Export to a file then click Next to continue. The Export to a file window appears.

Global Address Book is a shared address book, which can be read by all users in the same domain. Only domain administrator can add/edit/delete the contacts. Only system user or domain administrator can set a user as domain administrator.

It's under “Organizing” in the leftside menu (click the plus sign, if necessary). See, things are so organized now, they're hard to find. Ironic.

If the address book is blank, then the book may be closed. Follow the steps below to open the address book(s) that are closed.

In order for the GroupWise address book to be sorted by last name, the last name column should be the first one that appears in the address book. Follow the steps below to make last name the first column. The name of each column in the address book will appear above the column and will have a grey back ground. Point at the first column name and click the right mouse button. After clicking More Columns, a screen will appear.

Another easy way to add names into your Address Book is QuickBuilder. QuickBuilder setup allows you to search your Yahoo! Mail messages for contacts and add them to your Address Book. It's easy and fast!

When you download Backup Assistant, you will be guided through a series of steps that will create an account for you and backup your address book for the first time. Backup Assistant will safely backup any subsequent changes to your address book either automatically, at a schedule that you set, or manually, depending on the schedule option you select when you first create your account.

You only need to have the views ($Users), ($PeopleGroupsFlat), and ($PeopleGroupsHier) in your database. You also need the ($NamesFieldLookup) view if you want people to be able to begin typing the name in the To: field and have Notes find it automatically in the address books and fill in the rest.

If you have the situation where a common address book is to be kept for the office, then whoever has created the address book can "Publish" it to the server. Other users, if they have been added to the access list for that "published" address book can retrieve it and use it. From the File menu, select Address Book then Publish. You can now add users in the Publish For box to indicate who will be able to retrieve your published address book.

In the Choose an action to perform list, click Import from another program or file, and then click Next. Note: Large distribution lists may not be populated.
