You can add these options in your User Profile. Avatar images can't be over 60k in filesize. Signatures can't have images in them and are not allowed to be longer than 2 lines.

Because of people abusing their signature length, we decided to limit the allowed sizes. We know that this will most probably meet a disagreement, but it seems necessary for the viewing pleasure of everyone.
