Claiming exempt from withholding means that you expect to have no tax liability on your personal tax return at the end of the year. To claim exempt from federal withholding, you need to fill out a W-4 Form and write the word "EXEMPT" on line 7. See Form W-4 and/or Form DE-4 for more details, and to determine if you qualify to claim "exempt". You must renew your exemption status every calendar year by February 15; otherwise taxes will be held.

The term "tax-exempt," when used in reference to nonprofit organizations, generally refers to the net profits (proceeds over and above expenses) of an organization being exempt from federal and/or state income tax. While a nonprofit organization can be established by incorporating, the entity is not automatically tax-exempt upon creation with the state. Tax-exemption can usually be achieved only through applying for and receiving Internal Revenue Service (IRS) approval.

Exempt positions have monthly salaries and are exempt for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Non-exempt positions have an hourly rate of pay and are paid the overtime rate for hours worked in excess of 40 per week.

You are not required to submit a new W-4 form each year unless you have claimed "Exempt". If you claim "Exempt" on your W-4, please be aware it will expire on December 31st of each year. If a new W-4 form is not submitted, your tax withholding will automatically default to a single filing status with zero allowances.

Form W-4 (Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate), is used to calculate the correct amount of federal income tax to withhold from an employee's wages. Form W-4 must be completed by each employee on or before their first day of work. If no W-4 form is on file, employers must withhold the maximum amount from employee paychecks. Employers must keep a form W-4 on file for each employee.

A nonresident alien employee who is paid monthly shall complete the W-4 form as "single", one allowance and an additional withholding amount of $33.10. A nonresident alien employee, who is paid biweekly, must complete the form as "single", one allowance and an additional withholding amount of $15.30. Exceptions to this requirement are nonresident aliens from Canada, Mexico, Japan or South Korea. They may claim additional withholding allowances if certain conditions are met.

Certain property is protected from creditors in bankruptcy and is known as "exempt" property. Exactly what property is protected depends on the exemption scheme chosen. In many states, you can either exempt the certain property or exempt any "property that is exempt under [other] Federal law...or State or local law that is applicable..." In other states, you can only choose the "other Federal and State law exemption scheme.

Suspended is the status when a member chooses not to have their profile displayed publicly on Latin Love Search. Usually a member will "Suspend" their profile when they have met someone they are interested in or they will not be online for a while.

Rejected is when a member has uploaded obscene or pornographic photos or has tried to "sneak" contact information or website links into their profile. Rejection is a temporary freeze on the account made by the admin of Latin Love Search until the profile content conforms to our standards. If your profile has been "rejected," change the content and resubmit for admin approval.

Incurred is defined in Internal Revenue Code Section 125 as the date that that the services are provided that gave rise to the expense. Expenses are not considered to be provided at the time you are billed for or pay for the services.
