Shockers are a type of spool valve marker which use only one main moving part (bolt). In brief, the bolt acts as its own valve; internal air passages inside the bolt become open when it moves forward, then when it cycles back said passages become closed once again. Vertical adapter: The vertical adapters from an SFT can be used on an NXT. However, the vertical adapters on an NXT can't be used on an SFT (not without modification). Electronics: As long as the lower board is programmed for NXT beam-break eyes, it will work on a Shocker NXT. No. Although it is true that most Shocker boards have beam-break ability, these boards are only compatible with the NXT Shocker's stock beam-break eyes. They won't work with a custom installed eye set since there's no reliable way to attach the eyes to the board. This is due to both hardware and firmware; there are ways around it but the end result would be a hack job and I don't want to encourage that. The markers are no longer made so the only way you can find one "NiB" would be to find a retailer that still has it in stock. At this point (late 2006) there are many left out there, however they will disappear very quickly since they are much cheaper than the NXT models. Some aftermarket board developers have provided a programming revision that will allow their boards to function with the NXT eyes. Stock/Nerve and Blackheart boards are compatible as of August 2006. SP doesn't offer a reflashing service. See similar questions...

Various types of pumps can be used for supercritical fluid applications. For medium to large volume processes, a pneumatic booster pump is most often used. A diaphragm pushes against a piston to compress the liquid carbon dioxide to a set pressure point. Only version 2.9 or latter will work with the NXT. All other versions of the program are devoted to programming the RCX only. A 2.9 upgrade is available from LEGO Educational. The new "hyperthreading" technology in the new batch of Intel processors is not compatible with the tower's USB driver. The Defroster switch is on an 11 minute timer relay which goes under the dash. The switch is on a wire "leash" to allow positioning the LED lighted touch switch any place in the dash or under using the mounting flange. The mounting switch plate is 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) long, 1 (2.54 cm) inch wide, with a 9/16 (14.28 mm) inch mounting hole.
