Allergy skin testing: A skin-prick test is performed on your forearm to determine whether you are allergic to various allergens. There will be 12 to 16 allergens total. Accutane is a medication used to treat severe nodular acne. It is a medication of last resort, recommended for use only after conventional treatments have been tried and have failed. In severe nodular acne, many red, swollen, tender lumps form in the skin. These can be the size of pencil erasers or larger.
