We do not have a mathematical formula to figure how long a permanent marker will "last." With outdoor exposure on a nonporous surface, the marks from a dye base marker will be gone in perhaps three to four months. With indoor exposure on a porous surface, like artist canvas or paper, we would expect marks from a dye base marker to last several years. Resins or surfactants give the ink the ability to adhere to various surfaces.

Absolutely! However, electrolysis is not an overnight sensation. Electrolysis requires a series of treatments to achieve permanency. The number of treatments necessary varies with each client and with the area being treated. Factors such as hair growth cycles, the quantity and structure of hair presented, previous use of temporary hair removal methods, heredity, hormone function, normal physiologic changes, certain medications, and stress all influence the treatment program for each individual.

Once the design layout has been approved, most markers are completed within four weeks. If the marker includes a black and white photo etching, the production time is about six weeks. For color photo tiles, plan on about eight weeks.

Our standard sized markers (24" x 12" x 3" or smaller) are usually shipped via UPS ground, which take up to 7 business days. Larger markers (including 4" thick 24" x 12" markers) are shipped via common carrier, and take about the same time frame for delivery.

This formerly difficult cleaning problem has been solved in a unique way. By using Professionals Choice Shadow Max as a first step cleaner, permanent marker can be completely removed. This is an alternate use of Shadow Max which is normally used as a second step on porous surfaces.

Permanent marker can be removed with cleaner or by writing over it with a dry erase marker and erasing with a felt eraser.

The dyes or pigments used, which give the ink color (colorants), determine how well a marking will resist fading. Pigmented inks resist fading the best. Electrolysis is the gold standard for permanent hair removal. Electrolysis was first developed in 1875 by Dr. Charles Michel of St. Louis, Missouri to remove an ingrown eyelash. Because electrolysis is a permanent procedure, you will save hours and expense spent over a lifetime using temporary methods such as: waxing, shaving, bleaching, threading, depilatories, and believe it or not laser hair removal.

It can take several hours to see the entire exhibition, and most visitors spend about two hours. Selectively viewing the exhibition can reduce time. Visitors are free to explore the exhibition at their own pace.
