You already have a college degree from an accredited college, and the College's transcript office (BG-6) has evaluated a record of your previous academic experience; You have passed college-level English composition and mathematics courses with a C or better from an accredited college; You are interested in taking courses for which testing is not required.

All students who wish to enroll in courses at TCC must participate in the College Assessment Testing Program unless evidence of satisfactory performance in college level courses is presented from another institution or if the student has successfully completed eithert the ACT or SAT instrument within three years of the time you enroll in either a Math or English course at TCC. Anyone over the age of 65 is exempt from taking this test. The grounds for exemption of younger people need to be compelling, such as where the applicant: Is suffering from a long term illness or disability which severely restricts mobility and ability to attend language classes; or

You can contact the faculty member for that language and ask for an oral interview to confirm or change your placement. Teachers will also be checking for appropriate placement during the first week of classes. However, it is always better for your schedule planning if you can verify your appropriate placement before enrolling in a class.

Appointments are not necessary to take the placement/assessment tests. Visit the Assessment Testing for Placement website or contact the Information Center for a copy of the testing schedule.

A placement test is given to determine your level of reading, writing, and math. If your placement scores do not meet the level needed to take credit courses, you will be asked to consider a non-credit (PREP) program designed to raise your competency. Test proposals should include: The test should provide documented test results that are verifiable and representative of the diesel fuel used in the nontaxable manner. Usage tests must describe the process, the vehicles tested and the date of the tests.
