Trench Foot (Trench Feet) was a highly debilitating condition bought about by having the feet in water for long periods. It caused 12% of the non fatal casualties in the AIF. It was avoided in the early days by rubbing the feet with whale-oil. Other later treatment was to use talcum powder and to air dry the feet daily.

No. One’s own perspiration will not cause trench foot. This was a serious condition caused by rain, snow and bacteria which accumulated in muddy trenches. Colours refers to the suits worn by drivers or jockeys to differentiate them from others. In thoroughbred racing, the jockey wears the colours of the owner of the horse and usually changes colours with each race. Thoroughbred colours must be registered with the Commission. In standardbred racing, the colours are attributed to the driver.

Dermatophytes can be divided into three groups according to their favourite hosts: Athlete's foot is usually caused by anthropophile fungi. The most common species are Microsporum, Epidermophyton and Trichophyton. These account for 90 per cent of all skin fungal infections, commonly referred to as ringworm.

Normally, two runs of pipe are laid at six feet then looped back over itself at four feet once the bottom pipe is covered with soil. You are permitted to do your own trenching for secondary wire only. This is the portion of wire from the transformer to the meter. All underground primary is trenched by the Co-op.
