To clean, scrub the piece using a soft toothbrush and mild dishwashing liquid with warm water. To remove tarnish from silver I recommend that you occasionally polish it with a Sunshine Polishing Cloth. This is a non-toxic cloth that contains non-scratch micro particles and chemical cleaners that bring the silver to a beautiful shine. It can also be used on gold, brass and copper. Don't store the piece out in the open. It is best in an airtight bag.

There are two steps in the healing process. The first step seals the piercing and stops the risk of the piercing becoming infected. The second step takes considerably longer for the piercing to fully heal. During this second step, the jewelry can be removed for short periods of time, but the hole will shrink down as soon as the jewelry is removed. The time it takes to shrink down to the point you cannot reinsert the jewelry will vary upon gauge and how old the piercing is.

Your moissanite jewelry requires the same care and handling as any other jewel. Just like fine diamonds, clean with steam, solution or ultrasonic cleaners. Avoid cleaning with harsh chemicals.

A:Over time your sterling silver will tarnisha natural dulling effect that occurs when silver reacts with elements in the air. To prevent tarnish build up, clean your silver pieces with a polish or soft cloth specifically made for sterling. Always keep your sterling jewelry away from harsh chemicals such as chlorine and household cleaning products. This will reduce daily abrasions and prolong your jewelrys sparkle.

Platinum jewelry should be cleaned the same way you clean other fine jewelry. Use a good pre-packaged jewelry cleaner available from your local jeweler or have it professionally cleaned by your jeweler. As with all precious jewelry, store with care, not allowing pieces to touch or scratch each other.

Although our jewelry is very high quality, all beaded jewelry must be given care. Do not wear your jewelry while sleeping, bathing, or doing other water activities. Apply perfume and hairspray before putting on your pieces. If your pieces get caught on something, do not pull on them until they are free; carefully and gently remove the piece from whatever it is caught on. Gently swirling in a bowl of soapy water and then rinsing can clean beads.

The care and cleaning of enameled jewelry is the same as your other jewelry. You may clean it with a soft cloth or liquid jewelry cleanser. We recommend you store the piece in your Dilsey Coal jewelry pouch when not wearing it.

Mick & Jake Jewelry Designs brass jewelry is pre-treated to minimize the tendency of tarnish during your first few months of wear. To ensure continued tarnish-free beauty, we recommend the gentle cleaning of your jewelry at least monthly with any retail-bought brass cleaner.

Gold is tarnished by exposure to chlorine. Protect your investment by keeping your gold jewelry away from chlorinated cleaning products, swimming pools, and bleach, as well as hairspray, cosmetics, perfume, and cologne. Clean your gold jewelry with lukewarm water, mild detergent, or a solution of three parts water to one part ammonia. Brush gently with a toothbrush and rinse thoroughly. Do not leave items in this solution for an extended length of time, and do not put gemstones in this solution.

Keep silver in an air tight place to prevent tarnish or purchase anti tarnish strips available at Polly=s (air and light cause tarnish).
