If you have a complaint involving the actions of a Baton Rouge Police Officer, please contact the Internal Affairs Division at 704 Mayflower Street, or by calling 389-3850. The Internal Affairs Division is responsible for investigating complaints made by the public regarding violation of Departmental Rules, Regulations, Policies or Procedures.

You should direct your concern first to the local law enforcement agency. Under Penal Code section 832.5, each law enforcement agency in the state must establish a procedure to investigate complaints from citizens. A written description of this procedure is available from all law enforcement agencies.

A. A complaint may be filed about the conduct of an off-duty officer, however, the officer shall not be found guilty of misconduct if there is no connection between the conduct and either the occupational requirements for a Police Officer or the reputation of the Police Service.

Complaints can be filed with the Illinois Department of Public Health on the Web at www.smoke-free.illinois.gov or by telephoning the Department’s toll-free Complaint Line at 866-973-4646. Complaints also can be made to a state-certified local health departments or a local law enforcement.

The Leesburg Police Department is committed to maintaining a high level of professionalism. If you feel you have been treated unfairly by an officer, then you may file a complaint at the department. You'll need to fill out a sworn statement relating the events. The department will then conduct an investigation of the incident.

Not really. Allegations of judicial misconduct will be investigated in the same manner whether one person or 100 make them. All that matters is that the allegations be made once, clearly and fully. (If more than one person actually witnessed the misconduct, be sure to tell us the names of all witnesses and how we can reach them.)
