I have the GM Labor Time Guide loaded on a PC and I have received the SI DVD. What should I do ?

You should not have to use the SI DVD unless you need to access GM service information and your dealership Internet connection or ISP are experiencing problems. Therefore, you may leave the Labor Time Guide Stand-alone application on the PC. When you receive the SI DVD you should not have to use it unless your dealer network or your ISP experiences problems which prevent you from accessing the SI web site.

Is the SI DVD compatible with the GM Labor Time Guide (LTG) Stand-alone application ?

No, the SI DVD is not compatible with the LTG Stand-alone application. In order to start the SI DVD you must first uninstall the LTG Stand-alone application and any installed LTG databases. If you do not remove them, the SI DVD will stop the startup process and display a message asking you to remove the previous SI Stand-alone application and all databases before continuing. The SI DVD application will not start if a user is not logged on to the Techline PC. If you are running the SI DVD in a Techline client functioning as a ‘Peer to Peer Server’ you must remain logged on to the Techline PC. The SI Client utility is incompatible with the SI DVD application. The SI Client utility must be uninstalled from the Techline PC ‘Peer to Peer Client’ via Add/Remove Programs if you wish to run the SI DVD application from the local DVD ROM drive.
