Any time a vehicle is changed, you must register the new vehicle using the same process you completed for the initial registration and decal issuance. Please bring your completed vehicle registration form, a copy of the State Vehicle Registration Certificate and your WestConnect I.D. card to the WestConnect Card Office on the lower level of the Old Main Administration Building on the Midtown campus.

Resident students must properly affix a decal on the inside driver side rear window of their vehicle. Commuter students will receive two decals and must properly affix one decal on the inside driver side rear window and one on the back of the rearview mirror. There are NO EXCEPTIONS. This decal is the only form of permit that allows you to park your vehicle on campus. On motorbikes and motorcycles, the decal must be mounted on the left-side fork.

The decals are made to strongly adhere to the surface of your vehicle and should not detach. However, if your decal does begin to detach from your window, immediately remove it or bring your car to Police Headquarters to have it removed. We will then exchange it for a new one. Again, it will be replaced free of charge only if the old decal is returned. (If you make sure that the surface of your car is clean and dry before attaching the decal, it is unlikely it will fall off).

All eligible faculty, staff and students must purchase parking privileges prior to driving or parking on campus. Stop by the Parking Division office, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The campus uses a color coded parking system to distinguish parking lots where an individual may park. Free yellow parking decals are available for those students attending classes after 4:00 p.m.

You may complete and submit the Release of Motor Vehicle Records along with a $6 fee to the Title and Registration Bureau (address above). This form may be obtained at any County Treasurer's office or download Form MV210.

Call your local authorized dealer for that particular vehicle brand and see if they would make it from the VIN number If not, they might be able to make it based on the code that's engraved on the ignition. You would have to remove the ignition to see it. If not, you can take the ignition to a locksmith, and they will be able to make a key to work it (usually under $100)

Students who are registered for a Portland or Gorham class pay a transportation fee which covers garage access. To access the USM parking garage on the Portland campus, you must have a valid USM ID card. To obtain the USM ID card please visit the USM Card Office. To access the USM ground lots, a parking decal can be obtained at the USM Police Office or the Parking Office inside the Parking Garage.

Eventually, all LakerCards will be replaced with a card which will have your LakerID number printed on it for your convenience. This replacement card will be provided at no cost to the cardholder.
