You can only play a region 1 DVD on a region 1 or multi-region DVD player. Most DVD players sold in UK high-street shops are set to region 2. If you are shown a screen stating that there has been a Region Error when you try to load your DVD disc, this means that the disc you are attempting to play contains a Region Code which is different to that of your DVD player (also meaning that your DVD player is not Multi-Region compatible) and so the disc will not run on this machine.
