Yes, you can resize graphics on a web page. This is however not recommended. To resize a graphic you can alter the HEIGHT and WIDTH properties of the image tag. You should never make an image smaller than it is in the basic image file. If you do then create a new smaller image. This means that the user won't have to download as much. It is not good to make the image much bigger either. This can make effects which are undesirable on the page.

InDesign is kind of funky in that images can be played with in different ways. Unlike most programs, dragging on the boundaries of an image won't immediately resize it; instead if just changes the picture frame. So imagine you have an object behind a wall and there is a hole in the wall. You can move hole or make it bigger or fill it in so that you see different parts of the image. To actually resize the image you would need to go behind the wall and move the object.

Make sure you are using Adobe Acrobat 6. You can find you version number by looking under the help menu for a menu item named "About Adobe Acrobat". If you have version 4, you can install version 6 from the CD. Copy the image by either right-clicking or going to the "edit" menu and selecting "copy".

Use "Tools|Resize Photo" function. Also there is a "Resize" feature in the "Batch" function that processes a whole album or several or a single photo.

Answer. Put your cursor right behind the image and press backspace. You will see the name of the image, followed by six other fields. The two fields after the name of the image are respectively its width and its height. You may for instance set the width to 5cm and the height to 27mm. When leaving the width open, it will automatically be determined as a function of the height (and vice versa). When leaving both fields open, the image will be reproduced at its original size.

It is recommended that you use third-party software to generate thumbnails for your images as Windows does not provide a productive tool to do that (you can use Paint and painfully resize image by image!). For demonstration purposes, I have used Extreme Thumbnail Generator 1.7 by Extreme Internet Software. Keep all thumbnails the same width. This will result in a neater search layout.

Step 1: With the cursor over a border or corner of the Image Viewer window, click-and-drag the border or corner to the desired size. (The Maximize button on the title bar makes the Image Viewer fill the screen and the Restore down button will restore the previous size after maximization.)

If pictures are to big to fit in the browser window, this feature automatically resizes them. Also if you navigate to a Window where the pictures fit, but resize the window, IE 6 automatically resizes them. There is no distortion as both height and width are adjusted.

Note: If you resize the image larger than the editor window it can change the overall result of the layout on your page, so be careful with this.

If you don't know how to resize a photo to use as your profile pic, just upload the photo you have. As long as it's under 100kB, we'll resize it for you so it fits. If you want to resize it yourself, you can use a program like Photoshop, IrFanView, MS Paint, PaintShopPro, or iPhoto to resize a digital photo or image. You can use a crop tool to get the right dimensions (235 pixels wide by 175 pixels high) or you can use the resize function.

First, make sure you're logged on to archive.org with the same email address you used to upload the item. The image you upload must be named identifier.jpg (where identifier is your item's identifier name) and you must choose file format JPEG in the metadata editor. For every 100 seconds you buy, you qualify for uploading an image with 100 pixels with the size of 10x10 pixels. If you buy less than 100 pixels, you are not able to upload an image and be linked from the front page. If you buy, for example, 420 seconds, your image can contain 400 pixels. Keep in mind, that every side must be a multiple of 10, so 20x20 pixels would be fine.
