For the do it yourselfer I would strongly recommend it. I would also level each one with a transit type level. Building pools on the firm Arizona ground as I do blocks are seldom used. But I know the soil and use them when needed. I also laser level and pack the ground several times during my pool installation. It is better as a beginner to use the blocks and make sure they are all level.

Sun blocks are an important part of your skin care regimen. Bare Skin Rayblock is recommended as a daily part of your regimen, because it is good for your skin. However, it should not be relied on as a sun block, as it will not last very long as a blocking agent. We use mineral spirits for gage blocks that are really greasy, and ethanol (200 proof) as the final cleaner. This seems to work pretty well. We do not use ultrasonic cleaners because both of these solvents are flammable and we would need special hoods and other equipment for safety reasons. We do not use methanol because it is a poison. We have not made formal tests of isopropyl alcohol, but our inherited wisdom from ages past says that it was not as good as ethanol.
