Text Messaging - sometimes known as SMS (short messaging service) - is a way of communicating short messages via your wireless phone. Most (but not all) handsets have this feature. For CUPID, only AT&T Wireless customers can vote by text message using their wireless phone keypad to write the message "VOTE" and sending it to a contestant number.

All our products require SMS text-messaging technology. If you do not have SMS text-messaging service on your phone, you cannot order our service. For more information, contact your GSM network, or buy a new phone.

Bulk SMS messages are also known as Standard rate SMS msgs. If you are sending a SMS msg from this service to another mobile, the other mobile does not incur any charges to receive it. Standard carrier WAP/GPRS/UMTS data charges only apply for MMS type msgs.

No. Text to Landline works with all text messaging capable handsets that have not "blocked" messaging services from Verizon Wireless. Calls to retrieve voice messages sent to you in response to your Text to Landline messages are "billed per your Calling Plan." You may incur Long Distance charges if you subscribe to a Calling Plan that doesn't include domestic long distance or to a local plan.

Verizon Wireless has chosen not to allow the elimination of "Verizon Wireless" from your handset's banner to ensure accurate billing in all service areas. Alteration of the banner would create an inaccurate indication of whether or not the handset is accessing the Verizon Wireless or extended home rate network, or if it is roaming off the extended network.

Direct-dial international calls are placed in a similar manner to domestic long distance calls. An international phone number is generally made up of a country code, a city code and the local exchange number. To place a call outside of the US, you must start with 011. Next, you must use the country code, and then the number you wish to reach. You can find a list of country codes on the International Dialing page.

Picture Messaging is the ability to take your own picture using your picture messaging phone and send it to other compatible phones as well as to any email address. You can also dress up the photos you send with text or sounds you record right on your phone. And, of course, you can also receive photos on your picture messaging phone, too.

Note: To determine the make and model number of most phones, please perform the following steps: 1. Power the phone down 2. Remove the battery* 3. Note the manufacturer and model number on the handset's label. If you are unable to remove the battery, please contact Customer Service using the number listed on your bill or visit a Verizon Wireless store.

Messages can be created and edited from any web enabled PC and then sent instantly or queued to go at a more appropriate time

When you receive an SMS text message on your mobile phone, a message appears on the screen to tell you that you have 1 new message. To read the new message select Read. Each new SMS text message is automatically saved on your mobile phone. You can access your saved messages at any time by going to your Messages menu and selecting the Inbox. To delete an SMS text message from your mobile phone, select the Messages menu and then go to your Inbox. You can browse through your saved messages to review messages you may wish to delete. To delete the message, select Options and then select Erase. It is a good idea to regularly delete unneeded messages from your mobile phone so as to free up memory for new messages.
