If humans descended from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?
Frequently Asked QuestionsEvolution does not teach that humans evolved from present-day monkeys rather that humans and monkeys share a common ancestor that gave rise to both. New species evolve by splintering off from established ones, when populations of organisms become isolated from the main branch of their family and acquire sufficient differences to remain forever distinct. The parent species may survive indefinitely thereafter, or it may become extinct. See similar questions...

London.pm: FAQ for London.pmThe dancing monkeys or, if we're being cultural, les singe qui dansent , are those London.pm members who on any given subject will make a lot of noise, offer suggestions, make proclamations, fling faeces, indignantly post about people who they perceived have slighted them, the list, the IRC channel or Perl in general and, by and large, create more noise than signal.
