Appointments are necessary at all clinics to see an educator or a doctor if you need a prescription. If you would like a pregnancy test or emergency contraception you can walk in during clinic hours and we will do our best to serve you. If you just want to pick up pills and you already have a prescription with us, you can drop in during clinic hours.

Our clinic physicians take turns seeing sick children (acute care patients) in our patient care sessions each day. The physician who is conducting the sick children clinic for that day will be the provider with whom your child is given an appointment. If your child requires a well child appointment (normal preventive check up), you may request a specific Doctor or Physician Assistant. We ask that you call 4-6 weeks in advance to schedule your child's well visit with a specific provider.

The physicians of The Gynecology Center pride themselves on their attention to each patient seen. For this reason, and sometimes unforeseen emergencies, patients are not seen at their scheduled appointment time. It is strongly advised that you call our office before you leave your home or office to confirm the time you will be seen, 410-332-9200. Once you arrive at The Gynecology Center on the 6th floor of The Weinberg Center at Mercy, our front desk staff will greet and direct you.

Please give 24 hours notice, when possible, for cancellations. Even when there's no receptionist available, all of our practices utilise an answering machine. Yes, STD testing is done by appointment (see above as to how to make an appointment) or in a walk in Clinic, Thursdays, 9-11 am. Only six walk in patients can be tested at the Thursday walk in Clinic. Yes, the Clinic does pregnancy testing at a walk in Clinic on Wednesdays from 2-3:30 pm. (Note: the Clinic does not provide prenatal health care services.) No, the Clinic does not do herpes testing. However, if you have lesions, you can make an appointment for treatment.

The more information the PCP sends the better. Please include previous lab and radiology reports as necessary. By including comprehensive information, you will save time because the clinic will not have to request the information prior to granting the appointment.

You are not "immune" to an STD if you have had it before. STDs caused by bacteria (chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis) can be treated and cured, but you can get them again if exposed. Viral STDs cannot be cured and may remain in your body forever. Many vaccinations require several weeks for you to build sufficient immunity. Travelers are strongly encouraged to make an appointment for their vaccinations 4 to 6 weeks before departure. If you are unable to make an appointment within that time frame, you should still see your provider to inquire about accelerated schedules, travel health information or any other necessary medications to protect yourself with while traveling.
