Your degree can only be dated for the current or previous semester. In no case can your degree be dated earlier than 6 months prior to award. Even if you have satisfied your educational and experience requirements several years ago, we can only allow a window of 1 semester or a maximum of 6 months. Our diplomas indicate the award date, not the date you may have satisfied the requirement.

Yes. Randford University is an accredited institution with the National College Accreditation Council (NCAC). The NCAC independently determines if a college is meeting the high standards of traditional and distance learning practices. NCAC independently selects colleges and universities to be accredited.

Yes, a J.D./LL.M. dual degree program has recently been approved. Fifteen quarter hours (10 semester hours) of approved course work in the Graduate Tax Program are accepted toward the 90 semester hours required for the J.D. degree. For more information, click here.

Yes, there are many joint degree options available to J.D. students.  Some are structured programs, but students may also individually design other joint degree opportunities.   Applicants interested in joint degree programs must apply to each program separately. Normally students earn both a masters degree and a J.D. in four years.  

One of the biggest reasons people go to law school is "because you can do so many things with a law degree". For most of these people, this translates as "I really don't know what to do with my life, and going to law school will postpone that decision for at least three years." Frankly, we couldn't think of a worse reason to go to law school, or become a lawyer. If your goal in life is to do something other than practice law, go ahead and do that something.

Yes, your credits may transfer. However, many colleges and universities do not recognize credits earned at other institutions regardless if it is a distant learning school or a traditional university. If you wish to use your Randford University degree as the foundation for further education, we suggest that you to contact that institution before pursuing your degree at Randford University.

There are a number of factors that govern admission to graduate programs, including overall grade point, qualification tests (e.g. MCAT, LSAT, GRE), the quality of an applicant’s personal statement, internships and appropriate experience, etc. An Honors program can help, but cannot by itself determine one’s future success.

No, we recruit people from a wide range of disciplines, not just law. However it is preferable to have some legal training or an intention to pursue some training/education in this regard.

Answer: All foreign transcripts must be evaluated to make sure they are equivalent to an American degree. Students should contact Word Education Services (http://www.wes.org) to request a transcript evaluation. The evaluation must be a course-by-course evaluation AND it must show a GPA (grade point average). Original transcripts from foreign universities must be submitted to World Education Services AND to Stony Brook.

Answer: It can be accepted if it is equivalent to a baccalaureate degree from a United States university. Students should contact FCCPT or World Education Services (WES) at www.wes.org to obtain a course by course evaluation of their foreign transcripts. Original transcripts must be received by WES and Stony Brook University.

Students do not acquire a “degree” from a Fifth Pathway program. A student receives a Fifth Pathway certification of completion, which is in lieu of the ECFMG certification.
